National Women Physician’s Day 2021

Posted on:

On February 3rd, we recognize National Women Physicians Day, a day to celebrate and honor the many women doctors in the country. Created in 2017, the day falls on the birthday of the first woman to earn a medical degree in the U.S. — Elizabeth Blackwell.  This year marks Blackwell’s 200th birth anniversary and it is just the fourth National Women Physicians Day.

To observe the day, we want to introduce and thank our Kaiser Physician, Dr. Khan for all of the care and compassion that she gives to our patients and residents.

“Caring for patients is more than a profession to me – it’s a gratifying privilege.  There’s no greater joy than being able to ease a vulnerable patient’s pain with the utmost dignity and empathy.  Illness and death discriminates against no race, orientation, or gender; as a woman practicing medicine for over 20 years, I have found it to be immediately impactful that our industry workforce mirrors the demographics that we work so hard to serve”
